Success Story | Cozy Home Construction

Cozy Home Construction

In 2022, a new chapter in community-focused development began in Cincinnati with the launch of Cozy Home Construction LLC, a socially conscious, family-owned business committed to building accessible and sustainable homes in under-resourced neighborhoods.

Founded by Sarwar Shareef and co-led with his children, Aleeya and Yusuf, Cozy Home Construction draws deep inspiration from Sarwar’s father, Hasan Shareef, who spent decades building affordable housing in Karachi, Pakistan. His lovingly built homes, affectionately known in the neighborhood as “cozy homes,” offered safety and stability to families in his community, including his own. Today, that legacy of care and craftsmanship lives on through the work of Cozy Home Construction in Cincinnati.

“My father built homes that created ownership opportunities for a class of people who could only afford to live in makeshift shelters - gave people stability and dignity. I’ve carried that lesson with me. We focus on quality and long-term impact because every family deserves a home they can be proud of and every neighborhood deserves to be uplifted through real estate investment.”

Sarwar Shareef

Founder

Cozy Home Construction acquired seven formerly vacant parcels of land from the Hamilton County Landbank, a managed entity of The Port, through the Landbank’s residential development program. Now, these empty lots have become the foundation for new beginnings.

“This project shows exactly why the Landbank exists, to take properties or vacant parcels that have been overlooked and turn them into opportunities for homeownership and generational stability. Sarwar took that vision and made it real, creating high-quality homes and investing in neighborhoods that deserve it.”
