Moving Ohio Forward Demolition Grant

As of November 2013, the Hamilton County Landbank has demolished 55 properties with an additional 51 properties in the process of demolition.
In 2012, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine allocated $75 million for all counties across Ohio to demolish vacant, abandoned and blighted properties that detract from existing home values and create a toxic breeding ground for crime. Hamilton County was allocated more than $5.8 million dollars in Moving Ohio Forward funds.  The funding comes from a settlement with five of the nation’s largest mortgage servicers over foreclosure abuses, fraud, and unfair and deceptive mortgage practices. In Hamilton County, the HCLRC/Landbank was designated as the lead entity for those funds and, was responsible for locating matching dollars and assembling the program application for Hamilton County.
